The Font Effects

One of major unique features provided by VTeX is the extended font syntax and direct font effects support. Unlike conventional TeX's VTeX can modify fonts dynamically to provide myriads of font variations. The effects can be controlled by new attributes of the TeX \font command. Font effects include:

The Outline Font Effect

The samples below illustrate the outline font effect and VTeX syntax.

\font\f=mvu10 at 30truept outline bold 20

\font\f=mvu10 at 30truept outline=50 bold 20

\font\f=mvu10 at 30truept outline=125 bold 20

The Shadow Font Effect

The samples below illustrate the shadow font effect and VTeX syntax.

\font\test=mvr10 at 30truept shadow=65,40

\font\test=mvr10 at 30truept shadow=-65,40

\font\test=mvr10 at 30truept outline=45 shadow=65,40

\font\test=mvr10 at 30truept outline=45 shadow=65,40 tridi

The Contour Font Effect

The samples below illustrate the contour font effect and VTeX syntax.

\font\f=mvatcb scaled 3100 outline=5,235

\font\f=mvjunr scaled 2800 outline=15,200

The Slant Font Effect

The samples below illustrate the slant font effect and VTeX syntax.

\font\test=mvr10 at 30truept slant -450

\font\test=mvr10 at 30truept slant 450

\font\test=mvr10 at 30truept slant 450 outline=45,30 shadow=-65,40 tridi

The Aspect Font Effect

The samples below illustrate the aspect font effect and VTeX syntax.

\font\test=mvr10 at 30truept aspect 550

\font\test=mvr10 at 30truept aspect 850

\font\test=mvr10 at 30truept aspect 1600
